FHE & a New Week

Surprise, surprise, I am still here. So it's a new week and there's not a whole lot to tell.
During the week it's school/work, homework, chores and hopefully a little fun in there too. This week we had problems with Ben's Jeep, so it's back at the dealer getting fixed. We hope to hear how long it will be soon. Also we had problems getting the girls to clean their room, but they finally did it after 24 hours of arguing.

This weekend we did a bit of splurging as we got our income tax refund. Ben bought me a
Keurig mini brewer and hot cocoa k-cups. It is wonderful in the morning. We also bought several movies.

Tonight we had Family Home Evening. We had a lesson about obedience from Noah, Mikayla did Scripture, and Lana & Andrew did a combined activity/treat of scripture cookies. First the kids had to complete the recipe then we made the cookies, baked them and ate them. They were yummy! of course we switched the last ingredient from raisins to chocolate chips as Lana doesn't like raisins.

This week I look forward to extra kids Tuesday as I'm babysitting, but I get 2 evenings without kids as I have Relief Society on Wednesday and parent council on Thursday.

Well that's all for this week.

Try, Try Again

It is 2014 now, I have 2 children in school all day, one in half day kindergarten and one at home. So I am going to try this again. I am planning to post once a week, we'll see how it goes.
This week in FHE we talked about family unity and for our activity we started an experiment. We started making rock candy! The kids are very excited to watch it grow.
It is still very cold and snowy but the sun has started shining again. Thankfully.

Mikayla is doing very well in school and enjoys being creative at home. She is also working on her Faith in God award goals and has started learning to cook with Mom. She is currently being treated by a pediatrician for bowel problems but it has been getting better and she is learning about good nutrition.

Lana is really enjoying school and helps the other students. She is looking forward to her 8th birthday this summer and her baptism.

Noah is in kindergarten and has not decided if he likes it or not. He is usually very good at helping around the house and getting along with his siblings. He just turned 6 last month in February.

Andrew stays at home with Mom and loves to play superheroes with his brother or anyone who is willing. He is a very picky eater and right now tells me his tummy wants... toys, food, etc.

Ben is still working at Cooper's and he curses the cold, snowy weather as most days find him outside for at least part of it. He is still a car enthusiast and currently is enthused by Ford Crown Victoria police interceptors, so we have 2.

I am still a stay at home mom, and I volunteer at the elementary school when I can. I bake all the time for our family, and like to try new recipes. Currently I am trying to be crafty, we'll see if it works.

Anyway, time to go for now. Hope to be back in a week.

I Suck

Okay so I totally suck at consistent posting. Hopefully as the number of children at home all day dwindles my posting will increase. I am hoping to post an update later this week with pictures.
This is just a quick update. We, meaning mostly me, are getting our house ready to put up for sale. I have to do lists made up until wednesday next week. I got Mikayla, Lana, & Noah all signed up to play t-ball starting next month. We are waiting for Lana's birth certificate so that we can register her for kindergarten this fall, and we are trying our best to stick to a schedule.
Anyway that's it for now. Stay tuned for a more detailed update soon.(I hope)

A Year in the making

So sorry I haven't updated. This last year has been hectic. So where to start???

March 2010: Not much out of the ordinary happened but life with 3 small children is always exciting.

April 2010: visits to my ob/gyn

May 2010: This is commonly refered to as the birthday month. We celebrate 7 birthdays all within two and half weeks. One of those being Serena who turned 6.

June 2010: seeing my ob/gyn often, kids are excited to play outside, I am dealing with major back pain because of my pregnancy.

July 2010: summer heat, pregnancy pain, braxton-hicks, and 3 very active children.

Aug 2010: We celebrated Mikayla and Lana's birthdays ( 5 & 4 respectively) on the 4th. Then on the 9th at 4am labour started. I delivered Andrew Philip Walker our 4th and final child at 6:58am Aug 9th. It was fast, intense and a little scary as I did not dialte fully before I delivered. All's well that ends well. After that we started gearing up for school. Ben started his final technical training on Aug 30, and Miakyla started just after.

Sep 2010: School is going well, Andrew is a wonderful baby.

Oct 2010: Ben finishes school on the 22nd. Andrew gets his 2mth shots. Halloween costumes get decided on. Mikayla- Aurora (sleeping beauty), Lana- Cinderella, Noah- Dolphin, Andrew- PoohBear.

Now we get to recently. This month Ben is back at work and we are waiting for his Journeyman Certificate to come. Mikayla is loving school, and doing very well. We are very proud. Lana is a big help at home though she can't wait until it is her time to go to school. Noah is very active and vocal though a bit clingy. Andrew is a joy. He loves his routine and seldom varies from it. He only wakes up once a night, usually around 4am,then sleeps till 7 or 8 am. He rarely cries ,is very curious, loves to be talked to, rolls over both ways, and love to play peek a boo.
On the 18th I went for elective surgery, I had a tubal clipping. It went well, though I am a bit sore.
Ben is waiting for his 2011 Mustang to be built. We are very excited as we were originally told that it would not be built then last friday our friend( who owns CSL Ford in cardston) Dave said he got to work and there was a vin for our car waiting for him.

That's all for now.

All is well

Well everything has been going well for us.

Noah's birthday was a success he shared a party and cake with Grandma honi for her 60th and got the perfect presents: vehicles. Then we had another cake with Grandma & grandpa hogie.

Mikayla had her pre-school vaccinations and did wonderfully. She did cry a bit but was very good and she is very happy with her new shaw bear, that she named george.

Ben and I have made 2 trips to Edmonton in the past two weeks to work out a deal for an excursion. Thankfully this one panned out we we picked it up march 1st. It is just what I wanted and the kids love it.

I am now 18 weeks into my fourth pregnancy and the doctor says my health is perfect, even my light-headedness and near fainting spells he says are normal and may get worse.

On thursday all the kids go to the optometrist. I think Mikayla and Noah will be fine. I'm not sure about Lana, and hope she doesn't need glasses. We shall see.

Well that's it for now.

Happy Birthday Noah

Well tuesday was Noah's 2nd Birthday! Lucky little boy got 2 cakes. One he shared with grandma honi as sunday was her 60th. His second cake we had with grandma & grandpa hogie.

We have a busy few weeks ahead of us, but hopefully all will go well. This weekend is Ben's automotive swap meet, valentine's, and family day. Next week is my ultrasound on tuesday and Mikayla's vaccinations on thursday. Then on the weekend Ben will most likely be flying to Regina to buy a ford excursion that he will then drive 8 hrs home. Then we have a bit of a break until March 4 when all the kids have an appointment with the optometrist.

So I will be praying that in the next few weeks chaos is kept to a minimum.

So Sorry

It's been almost a year since I've posted. Sorry I will try to do better.

Noah will be two on Feb 9 and we are so excited. It's hard to believe he's already so big. He loves to play with toy cars and really anything with wheels. He also loves Elmo and In the Night Garden. He is a very sweet boy, most of the time, although he has started to copy any new words he hears.

Mikayla is 4 1/2 yrs. She is very bright, and unfortunately quite bossy too. She can be a big help when she wants to be, and she is already excited about kindergarten in the fall.

Lana is 3 1/2 yrs. She is very creative and shy. She is a quick learner and can be very sneaky too. She was very excited to start sunbeams in primary this year and is doing really well. She loves music and sings along to my cds in the car, with most of the correct words.

Ben is still working at Coopers and we are preparing for him to go for his last bit of schooling this fall. In september he will go to Lethbridge college for 8 weeks of technical training than take his exams, all 3 of them. If he gets above a 70% then he is done and will be a certified journeyman mechanic.

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. Due date is Aug 2. And our first ultrasound is next week. We are currently looking for a bigger vehicle and hopefully in the next few months we will be able to sell our house and get a bigger one.

Well that's it for now. I'll write again next week.
